Paknam Bhasicharoen Temple, Bangkok, arranged the chanting for peace and friendship at Maha Ratchamongkol Pagoda.  The Most Ven. Somdej Phramaharatchamangkhalacharn, Acting Supreme Patriarch of Thailand and abbot of Paknam Bhasicharoen Temple, was the Monastic President and Her Holiness Shinso Ito, the President of Shinnyo–En from Japan, joined in this ceremony.

The chanting for peace and friendship was arranged since the celebration of Maha Ratchamongkol Pagoda in Paknam Bhasicharoen Temple.  It was the co-working for Buddhism between Mahayana Shinnyo–En and Theravada sects.  There were members of Sangha Supreme Council, senior monks, Miss Sansanee Nakpong – Minister of the Office of the Prime Minister including Shinnyo–En disciples from all over the world, over 1,500 total participants, in this ceremony.  Her Holiness Shinso Ito offered an 80cm-long sleeping Buddha image to the Most Ven. Somdej Phramaharatchamangkhalacharn as well.

 Shinnyo–En is the Buddhist organization established in Japan in 1930.  This sect has about 1,000,000 disciples and 100 branches.  The practitioners are in 55 countries around the world.  They determine to spread the Lord Buddha’s teachings to access laypeople who live in the new societies and help in the acceptance of the social variety by cultivating themselves, using good characteristics and helping other people.
