The ceremony of offering rice and dried food to Than To district in Yala province

The Most Ven. Phrathepyanmahamuni, the abbot of Dhammakaya Temple and President of Dhammakaya Foundation, assigned his disciples in Yala province to be his representatives to offer rice and dried food to the monks, old people, local residents, soldiers, and police who lived or worked in Than To district.  Phramaha Sommai Siridhammo, the abbot of Khaobannangkrajae Temple in Than To district, was the Monastic President.

The ceremony of offering rice and dried food in this time was to support and encourage those who had got effects of the unrest events for over 8 years especially the monks and the novices – they could not do the monastic duties comfortably.  About the local residents, the unrest event affected their work.  This also supported soldiers and police who worked there.

The alms were 5,000 kg of rice, 50,000 packs of instant noodle, 1,000 cans of canned fish, 7,000 packs of 3-in-1 instant drink, 2,500 packs of thin rice noodle, and a lot of medicine and medical care.  The receivers were Khaobannangkrajae Temple, Than To Temple, Sri Nakhon Temple, Bohin Temple, Khoke Chang Temple, Taphayao Temple, Wangsai Temple, Nerancharawas Temple, Than To Police Station, Border Patrol Police Company 441, Santisook Company 306, Veteran Volunteers, Than To Volunteers, Village Volunteers, Khirikhet Battalion, Than To Village No. 1 Security Team, etc.
