Wat Phra Dhammakaya organized the 8th mass novice ordination for the Buddhism revival throughout Thailand in 2024 under the concept of “Dhamma Training during Summer Break”. There are over 13,000 boys and men, applying for the mass ordination from over 200 Morality Promotion Centers across Thailand and over 8,000 candidates are qualified and selected for this ordination. The training lasts 31 days during 28 March – 28 April 2024 at the Morality Promotion Center of each province.
On 6 April 2024, by 6.00 hrs., parents and relatives of the novice candidates joined the circumambulation of Maha Dhammakaya Cetiya at Wat Phra Dhammakaya, followed by the ceremonies of asking for forgiveness from the parents and offering novice robes. In this event, Venerable Phrakrupaladrattanaveerawat, abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, was the preceptor. This ordination program under the concept of “Dhamma Training during Summer Break” has the main objective to cultivate Buddhist principles for living one’s life as the good child of parents and the moral citizen of the country.
The novice ordination program for the Buddhism revival across Thailand in 2024 is organized during 28 March -28 April 2024 by Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammakaya Foundation with the collaboration of International Buddhist Club, Morality Promotion Centers across Thailand, WAB (World Alliance of Buddhists), V-PEACE, educational institutions of local administration organizations, the network of government and private sectors and devotees of Wat Phra Dhammakaya throughout the world.
