Helps for Flooding in Myanmar, August 2015

The World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth Organization, Dhammakaya Foundation and Luangpor Intarayana’s team from Dawei provided needed supplies such as rice and canned foods, as well as 5 trucks loaded with aid packages to flooded areas to help victims in many cities of Myanmar.

On August 20th, 2015 the aid team, including Phra Intarayana’s team, 15 staffs from Dawai, representatives from Dhammmakaya Foundation and World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY) helped 380 families of those affected by the flood at Wat Amingkalachayo. This area, located in the southwestern of Bago or Hanthawaddy city, has caused concern by flooding every year.  This year was one of the heaviest floods.

On August 23th, 2015 the aid team continued travelling to help the flood victims in Kale District, Sky City, donating 5 million JAD for housing repairs, as well as offering aid packages, rice, dried food and clothes to the flood victims. The flooding in Kale District, Sky City was up to 25 feet. Currently, the water level was down. Public houses, temples, schools and farmland were damaged, about 274,895 rai. Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong, president of the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth Organization revealed that 200,000 baht was donated to Miajao Sayador Temple and 100,000 baht also to Luangpor Intarayana for continued aid to relieve and give moral support to all the victims.
