Buddhism in Thailand and the Meditation Methods for Lay People”—June 28, 2016--Toyo University, Japan

On Tuesday June 28th, 2016 Professor Watanabe Shogo of Toyo University, Japan invited the teaching monk, Ven. Dr. Chattapong Katipanyayo, from the Meditation Center Tokyo, Japan,  to give a lecture on the topic of “Buddhism in Thailand and the Meditation Methods for Lay People” for faculty members and university students at Toyo University. 140 Eastern Philosophy major students from the Faculty of Arts attended the event. The teaching monk discussed the importance of Buddhism and the monk’s conducts and went over different meditation methods in Thailand. Then, the teaching monk introduced the Dhammakaya meditation method, according to the Most Venernable Luang Pu Wat Paknam teachings to the attendees. The attendees were really interested in the lecture and meditation. The atmosphere was very interactive. Many students raised their hands to ask questions about Buddhism and meditation and many felt the relaxation that stemmed from meditation. Some expressed their interest to visit the Meditation Center Tokyo in order to practice meditation.
