2nd English Dharma Lecture// Feb. 4, 2017– DIMC New Jersey, NJ

The 2nd English Dharma for Americans lecture by Phra Nicholas Thanissaro was very successful.  It was held on Sunday January 29, 2017 on the topic of Law of Karma and Saturday February 4, 2017 on the topic of the Noble Eightfold Path/the Middle Way at Dhammakaya International Meditation Center of New Jersey (D.I.M.C.N.J), the USA. Americans in Fanwood and nearby cities attended in this lecture.  They asked dharma questions and asked for the teaching monk’s suggestion about how to apply dharma in the daily life.  Many of them revealed that listening to Dharma is very useful and they want DIMCNJ to arrange more often because they would get new knowledge, which is beneficial for their mental development.

An American woman asked the teaching monk during the lecture that she was not born in the Buddhist family, what she could do to follow the Buddhist teachings.  The teaching monk answered that most religions generally teach people to do good deeds even though there are something different.  They could see that some people were able to keep five precepts better than some Buddhists.  So, the actions show their value and goodness no matter what they believe.

Buddhism is not creed but it is the teaching of the Way of Life.  Those who study and apply in their daily life will get benefit and happiness.
