According to New Year Eve of 2020, The World Buddhist Organizations including the network of laypeople from Dhammakaya Temples worldwide as well as 20 associate network organizations together held the Dhammayatra activities during 2nd-31st January,2020 in areas of six provinces related to the significant life paths of the Great Master, namely: Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Nakhonpathom, Pathumthani, Nonthaburi and Bangkok so as to pay high homage to the Buddha and the Great Master with the activity of the preservation of Home, Temple, School & Five precepts observing.

For the purpose that the community of monks, youths and people will participate in the Dhammayatra activities such as Sangha Dana, chanting and meditation to enhance morality and to promote the auspicious occasion of New Year Eve.

 

The Objectives

  1. To pay highest respect to the Buddha according to New Year Celebration of 2020 as well as to inherit the typical Thai culture.
  2. To pay homage to the Great Master Phra Monkolthepmuni [ Sodh Chantasaro ]Luangpu Watpaknam Bhasrichareon on the significant paths of his life
  3. To train new monks on Buddhism Thought to be virtuous monks for Buddhism
  4. To strengthen communities of homes, temples and schools in the moral way of life.
  5. To raise ethics in youths and general publics to be faith in Buddhism
  6. To forward Thailand prosperity and consistency.

 

The Important Pathways of the Great Master

These are the routes of significant places in commemoration of Phra Mongkolthepmuni [ Sodh Chantasaro ] who rediscovered Dhammakaya meditation technique. Hence, a great number of his followers intentionally established the seven historical places to be significant life paths of the Conqueror Monk.

  1. The Birth place located on the lotus shaped land at Songpinong district, Suphanburi province.

  1. The Memorial Hall named Khlong Bang Na Tan where he devoted his life for the lifelong ordination, at Khlong Bang Na Tan, Sampran district, Nakhon-Pathom province.

  1. The Ordination place at Songpinong Temple, [a Royal Temple] Songpinong district, Suphanburi province.

4. The place where the Great Master attained Dhammakaya at Bote- bon Temple, Bangkuvieng, Nonthaburi province

  1. The Bang-pla Memorial Hall; The first place of Dhammakaya Meditation Propagation at Bang-Pla Temple, Banglen district, Nakhon Pathom province.

  1. The Place where the Great Master and his experienced disciples practiced high meditation and propagated Dhammakaya Meditation at Paknam-Bhasicharoen Temple { the Royal Temple } in Bangkok.

  1. The World Center of Dhammakaya Meditation Propagation; Dhammakaya Temple, Khlong Luang district, Pathum-Thani province.

09.00 am : Welcome ceremony [ Throwing the Benjasub flower petals] at Dhammakaya Temple

16.00 pm : Welcome ceremony [ Throwing the Benjasub flower petals] at the Lotus Land, Suphanburi province.

 

Saturday 4th,2020 :

14.00 pm : ceremony of Sangkha- Dana to be offered to monks from 136 temples at Phra Mongkolthepmuni Meditation Center

17.00 pm : Worship lighting ceremony at lotus Land

 

Sunday 5th,2020 :

07.00 am: Alms offering ceremony to 1,136 monks at Lotus    Land

16.00 pm: Welcome ceremony [ Throwing the Benjasub flower petals] at Khlong Bang Na Tan Memorial Hall

 

Saturday 11, 2020:

17.00 pm : Worship lighting ceremony & Loy Kratong ceremony at Khlong Bang Na Tan Memorial Hall

 

Sunday 12th,2020 :

07.00am: Alms offering ceremony to 1,136 monks at Khlong Bang Na Tan Memorial Hall

16.00 pm: Welcome ceremony [ Throwing the Benjasub flower petals] at Song- Pinong Temple

 

Saturday 18th,2020 :

17.00 pm: Worship lighting ceremony & Loy Kratong ceremony at Song- Pinong Temple

 

Sunday 19th,2020 :

16.00 pm: Welcome ceremony [ Throwing the Benjasub flower petals] at Bote-Bon Temple

 

Friday 24th,2020 :

14.00 pm: Alms offering ceremony to 103 temples at Ta-Kian Temple

17.00 pm: Worship lighting ceremony & Loy Kratong ceremony At Bote-Bon Temple

 

Saturday 25th,2020 :

07.00 am: Alms offering ceremony to 1,136 monks At Bote-Bon Temple

16.00 pm: Welcome ceremony [Throwing the Benjasub flower petals] at Bang–Pla Memorial Hall

 

Sunday 26th,2020 :

07.00 am: Alms offering ceremony to 1,136 monks at Bang–Pla Memorial Hall

 

Thursday 30th,2020 :

14.00 pm: Sangkha-Dana ceremony to 103 temples at Bang-Pla Temple

17.00 pm: Worship lighting ceremony & Loy Kratong ceremony at Bang-Pla Memorial Hall

 

Friday 31st,2020 :

15.30 pm: Welcome ceremony [ Throwing the Benjasub flower petals] at Dhammakaya Temple

18.00 pm: Worship lighting ceremony at Dhammakaya Temple

Note: One hour prior to the ceremony beginning, all participants are expected to come in the ceremonial area.

: The itinerary may be changed in accordance with propriety.

 

Regulations for the Dhammayatra Activities’ involvement.

  1. Well plan to participate in the activity in advance.
  2. Prior to arriving, get information of the seven memorial halls.
  3. Arriving the places organized should be made at least one hour before the event’s beginning.
  4. Come as a group by a bus is highly recommended in order to be convenient for participation in the event, especially the alms offering on January 25th, 2020 at Bote-Bon Temple.
  5. Car parking is as stipulated by an officer in charge
  6. Strictly to follow the rules by traffic officers
  7. Mutual respect and courtesy to passersby and the locals.

Recommendations for a correct way to throw Benjasup and Subbhanchuen flower petals in the areas of the Memorial Halls

  1. The petals of Benjasup and Subbhanchuen flowers should be well prepared on a clean tray or salver, in advance.
  2. Bring your own seat and sit in an area set by staffs
  3. Wearing in White is much preferred to show your respect to the groups of the Dhammayatra monks.
  4. After arriving the welcome area, please help keep clean the area by picking up fragments or  thorns then kept them in a plastic bag
  5. As for neatness, please throw the petals on reed mats organized by staff members.
  6. To avoid a temporary disruption, keep your distance of 50 meters to all the approaches of the Dhammayatra procession before throwing the petals of the flowers as well as do not directly throw the petals on or too closed to their feet.
  7. Do not cover the flower petals with any cloth or material.
  8. Prior to approaching of the Dhammayatra procession, you are supposed to make wishes and chant to be grateful to the Triple Gem and Phra Monkolthepmuni
  9. During the Procession, do not speak to the Dhammayatra monks. Moreover,the four necessities of a Buddhist monk and refreshments should be served and offered at a rest area for the monks or at a mobile car for the monk organizers.
  10. Simultaneously, always palm up your hands and say “Sadhu” to welcome the Dhammayatra monks including purify your minds and always recollect the Buddha and Phra Monkolthepmuni at your body centers.
