The branches of Wat Phra Dhammakaya in Europe organized an international ordination program for European ordinands from 9 countries.
On 16 July 2023, Venerable Prakrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, the Director of Communication Department related that the branches of Wat Phra Dhammakaya in Europe arranged an international ordination program for 15 European ordinands from 9 countries (Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy, Norway, England, Austria, Belgium, and Thailand) at the chapel of Wat Phra Dhammakaya-Benelux, Belgium. Most Venerable Phrasripatcharodom, the Ecclesiastical Provincial Head of Phetchabun province and Abbot of Mahathat Temple (a royal temple) was the preceptor.
During the ceremony, the preceptor together with the monks and lay people dedicated the ordination merit to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on his birthday on 28 July 2023.
“2023 marks the 9th year of international ordination program in Europe during 8-30 July 2023. Its objectives are to implant faith in Buddhism and to give a chance to European people to learn the Buddha’s teaching through the practice along the monastic discipline and meditation to find the true inner happiness. This program also supports the raising number of religious heirs in Buddhism, which has positive effects on the Buddhism propagation in Europe.”said Venerable Phramaha Vivat Chanesgo (Pali Scholar of Level 9), the Secretary of the Union of Thai Sanghas in Europe.
