
On 18 August 2026, at 8.30 am, Pathum Thani Provincial Administrative Organization, together with Khlong Luang District Office, Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammakaya Foundation organized the 1st training program on “Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation” and “The Use of Automated External Defibrillator”, focusing on life-saving emergency skills for the patients in Khlong Luang district at Plook Sattha 2 Building of Wat Phra Dhammakaya.
In this event, Venerable Phrakhrupaladrattanaveerawat, abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, assigned Venerable Phramaha Veerawat Veerawatthako (Pali scholar of level 9) to lead all training attendees in a meditation session to boost their concentration before starting the training program. The opening ceremony of this training program was presided over by Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamronwit Thoopkrajang, president of Pathum Thani Provincial Administrative Organization.
The training course focuses on equipping participants with the essential skills in the assessment and observation of emergency patients’ conditions, particularly critical conditions of certain diseases that can occur in daily life as the warning signs, such as stroke and myocardial infarction (MI), conducting initial situation assessments, and providing appropriate assistance before transferring patients into the emergency medical system. The main content of this program relates to the skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillator (AED) for adults, children and infants. All attendees took the written tests before and after training to assess their knowledge and joined the workshop on CPR and AED use. Additionally, they could ask questions and share their ideas with the trainers. The training drew over 200 attendees including Khlong Luang residents, police, village headmen, subdistrict headmen, security guards, health care volunteers, teachers and students, laypeople of Wat Phra Dhammakaya and representatives from government sectors.
Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammakaya Foundation have been promoting public assistance activities in order to develop the potential of the locals, especially the essential skills on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillator (AED). Realizing that the first aid in case of emergency is an important step of saving patient lives, the temple provided training venues and facilities for the safety training to upgrade the quality of life for the residents of Khlong Luang district.
