The Meditation Center of Chicago has been arranging meditation class for locals on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings for many years. The activities include warm-up exercises for relaxing the body, introduction to meditation and the Dhammakaya technique, meditation session, asking questions, discussing their meditation experience, and Dharma Talk. Many Americans are interested in these activities, meditation and Buddhism.
Ven Dr. Nicholas Thanissaro kindly led them to meditate and also taught dharma about anger and how to not lose your temper. Then, Ven Nicholas opened chance for the class members to ask their questions about meditation and general dharma, which interested them very much so Dharma Talk in the afternoon was more than one hour longer than usual.
On that day, both new and old members were happy because of meditation and gained good dharma from the teaching monk for them to apply in their daily life.
