Monks receiving alms is one of the monk’s obligations set by the Lord Buddha. This tradition has been carried out since the Buddhist era.
The Lord Buddha praised alms offering as a gracious act, or as it is known in Buddhism, as Beings’ Liberation.
This is because alms receiving is, in a way, a way to propagate Buddhism.
