Ceremony on Asalha Puja Day at Wat Phra Dhammakaya
On the occasion of Asalha Puja Day, Wat Phra Dhammakaya held the offering funds for monastic bath cloth and lightings, and placing the Buddha’s relics inside the lotus-bud-like top of the heads of the Principal Buddha Statues ceremonies.
On 1 August 2023, Wat Phra Dhammakaya held merit-making ceremonies throughout the day. Buddhists from Thailand and overseas gathered at the “Sapha Dhammakaya” assembly hall and the Grand Meditation Stadium, to make offerings to the Buddha on this important Buddhist day.
In the morning of the Asalha Puja Day, Wat Phra Dhammakaya organized an monastic bath cloth and lightings offering ceremony. In the afternoon, there was a ceremony for placing the Buddha’s relics inside the lotus-bud-like top of the heads of the two Principal Buddha Statues. It was also the very first time for the 2nd meditation room to be in use. Everyone made resolutions and spread loving-kindness under the leading of Luang Por Dattajivo, Deputy Abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya. Then in the evening, a clockwise circumambulation of Maha Dhammakaya Cetiya and enshrinement of the Principal Buddha Statue ceremony was held at the 1st floor of the Grand Meditation Stadium. All the meritorious people paid homage to the new Principal Buddha Statue and chanted the Dhammachakkappavattana Sutta together until reaching 5,556,000,000 rounds.
