The Meditation for Japanese was held at Yokohama Cultural Center, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Monday January 23, 2017. Phra Thanawut Tissaro from the Thai Buddhist Meditation Center in Japan is invited to teach dharma and lead meditation there every month.
Phra Thanawut Tissaro asked them why they practiced meditation and the answer was to keep their minds clean, clear and calm. Then, he continued asking why they had to meditate and he let them imagine that they were entering into a dark room. The more they walked, the more they feared. They might be hurt if they stumbled on a table. In this situation, wise people always try to find a way to get light such as turn on the light or use a flashlight. So they would not be hurt if there was a table or something in their way.
Likewise, meditation is to make people see things correctly to understand the problems and able to solve them. This was the reason why anyone should practice meditation. Another important thing is to practice meditation continuously. After that they meditated together for 30 minutes. The participants revealed that they were peaceful, calm, and temporarily stopped thinking for a while. It was similar to recharging their willpower.
