Dhammakaya D.C. Temple arranged the International Vesak Day 2013

Monks from many countries lined up to go to the ceremonial center

The activities began with monks from many countries lining up to go to the ceremonial center while the congregation was preparing flower petals to pave to welcome the monks.  Then, the monks from different countries and sects lit the Victory Candles to worship the Lord Buddha.

Everybody offered Maha Sangha Dana together

Phrapalad Chartchai Chakharo, the abbot, gave the speech to welcome the monks and guests.  After that, senior monks and honorable guests praised the kindness of the Lord Buddha such as Ven. Bati Dhammasiri from Wat Sri Lanka, charge d’affaires Sira Sawangsilpa – the Ambassador’s representative of Washington DC, the representative of USA Security Department, etc.  Then, it was the Maha Sangha Dana Ceremony. Ms Uraiwan and Ms Duangjai Krairuek were the ceremonial presidents.

Everyone lit the Vesak lanterns together

About the Ceremony of Offering Vesak lanterns, Ms Jitsupha Boonrueng and Ms Monkanit Khattiyakorncharoon were the presidents of the special lanterns and led the others to say the speech of offering Vesak lanterns to worship the Lord Buddha.  Then, everybody had lit the Vesak lanterns and circumambulated to worship the Lord Buddha before they made a wish and spread loving-kindness together.
