I pay the highest respect to the Most Ven. Luang Por
My name is Kal. Kulprapha Thongkhaew, the representative of the disciples in Samut Prakarn.
Dear Luang Por, I go to persuade men to ordain without afraid of the weather because I know that the merit of persuading men to ordain is a big one. It is the special merit which will cause us to meet only good people. Because I am a woman in this life, so I cannot ordain and cannot be one of a hundred thousand monks. I decide to persuade men to ordain even though I have a lot of work. I stop working temporarily and go out to persuade men to ordain. I have a son who is a monk now. He has been a monk for over 1 year and is working for you at Jamjan building. So I know how happy a mother is when she sees her son ordained. It is like going to the heaven. I want other mothers who have sons to be happy like me.
Now my friends and I are going to persuade men to ordain in many communities together. We focus in the crowd places such as the market in Bangpu Industrial Estate. We rented some area in the middle of the market to install the booth. Moreover, some of us drove the car and announced this news from house to house, lane to lane, and road to road. Whenever I see a man, I give him a smile and walk to give the ordination brochure and ask for his phone number. The phone number is very important. We must give them our phone numbers for contact because some men change their mind and want to ordain later. Sometimes, some girls, women, or relatives want to send their male relatives to ordain, they can call us at once. My friends and I have persuaded men to ordain for 10 days and we have got over 20 applications. We still go out to continue it until reaching the goal.
I would like to invite your disciples around the world to come together to persuade men to ordain. Please don’t think that we have arranged the ordination ceremony many times so most men were ordained or have been ordained. It is not true at all. From my experience of persuading men to ordain, I found that many men have never been ordained or know the news of the Mass Ordination Project – the 100,000-Monk Ordination Nationwide Project. Please don’t think that there are many people going out to do, so it is not necessary for you to do. If you think so, you will lose a good chance of getting merit. In fact, there are many areas we have never gone to do. If more of us go out to do, we will get more chance to access all areas and we will reach our goal easily. We will then be happy and successful more quickly.
