The 3rd Paramita International Youth Camp : 5th-9th August 2017, Ulsan , S. Korea

9 countries participated in the 3rd Paramita International Youth Camp , Ulsan , S. Korea
Buddhist Youth Association , S. Korea organized the 3rd Paramita Paramita International Youth Camp and 20th Paramita Youth Camp in Ulsan , S. Korea during 5-9 August 2017 with delegates and youths  from 9 countries including Australia , Bangladesh , China , India ,Myanmar , Srilanka ,  Taiwan , Thailand and S. Korea.


Before The Opening Ceremony there was the 1st International Buddhist Leader Forum by International Guests and youths to share their activities and discuss how to be a Leader and preserve culture.


The Opening Ceremony started at Ulsan University On 5 August 2017 evening which inaugural speech by
– Venerable Zhi Hong , Chairman of Buddhist Propagation, Jogye Order
– Venerable Sim San , President of Paramita Youth Association of Korea
– Mr. Kim Gi Hyeon, Mayor of Ulsan Metropolitan City
– Dr Pornchai Pinyapong, President of World Alliance of Buddhists (WAB)
with joyful & colorful program of light & sound and gifts for youths.


On 6 August 2017 everyone got a chance to learn Korean Culture such as making lotus lanters , preparing temple food , and experiencing the Dhamma Drum , etc.
During the evening was the big music Festival and international cultural exchange program before the Fun Fun Festival ( Music Festival) at Dongguk University High School, Ulsan , S. Korea.
Dr Pornchai Pinyapong, WAB President, led meditation to give peace of mind and make world a better place, in accordance with  the theme of program.


7 August 2017, Paramita camps received a chance to visit 3 temples
1. Tong Do Sa – since 616 ( 1,400 years ago) – monks temple
2. Soak Nam Sa – since 817 ( 1,200 years ago )- Bhikkunee temple
3. Jung To Sa ( Pure Land)
On 8 August we had a chance to visit Hyundai Factory and join theTemple stay in Bulguksa temple.
WAB Team lead by Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong received an opportunity to pay respect to Seokguram this morning ,9 August 2017.
During the Closing Ceremony of The 3rd Paramita International Youth Camp , all monks , Buddhist leaders , and youths did a Circumbulation around 2 Pagodas , National treasures of South Korea,  the Dabotap and Seokgatap stone in  Bulguksa temple, meditated, chanted, and ended with a closing speech by Venerable Sung Jin , Executive Director of Paramita Youth Association of Korea and WAB Vice President , , Souvenirs exchange.


The 5 day program in S. Korea was a very good experience for all participants and Paramitas will organize International youth program yearly to train youths to be good leaders in the future.
