Wat Phra Dhammakaya organized the mass ordination of 3,000 ordinands throughout Thailand in homage to the Great Master for the mission of the 12th Dhammayatra (pilgrimage) in January 2024.
On 19 December 2023, Venerable (Dr.) Phrakrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, Director of Communication Department, Wat Phra Dhammakaya mentioned that Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammakaya Foundation together with World Alliance of Buddhists, Morality Promotion Centers throughout Thailand, International Buddhist Clubs and devotees of Wat Phra Dhammakaya organized the 2023 mass ordination for 3,000 ordinands throughout Thailand and all monks would be trained at Wat Phra Dhammakaya and all Morality Promotion Centers across the country.
On 15 December 2023, the monks of this project visited and paid respect to Maha Dhammakaya Cetiya and took group pictures with the Most Venerable Luang Por Dhattajivo. Then they joined the training course to prepare themselves for the 12th Dhammayatra (pilgrimage) in homage to the Great Master Phramongkolthepmuni (Sodh Cantasaro) by making a pilgrimage to 7 memorial places of the Great Master (The Mara Vanquisher).
“The project of 2023 mass ordination in homage to the Great Master during 28 November 2023 – 4 February 2024 has objectives to strengthen morality and merit accumulation of Thai people via the ordination of their son or grandson and to revive the tradition of ordination in Thai society. The monks joining this project will be trained of meditation and the principles to live their life on the right way according to the Buddha’s teachings and they also have the opportunity to express the gratitude to their parents.
