The 7th Europe International Dhammadayada Ordination Program

On 23 June’2019, at Wat Phra Dhammkaya Belgium organise the 7th Europe International Dhammadayada Ordination Program. With 24 participants from 9 countries (Germany, England, France, Czech Republic, Belgium, Sweden, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Thailand).Together they participate in the short-term ordination program, in order to promote Buddhism across Europe for substantial development.

Ordain as a monk, is not to escape from life, but for better self-development.

Study the knowledges on the teachings of Lord Buddha, and practice meditation, cultivate the stillness of mind. In order, to provide more meaning to your life. At the same time, could elevate their own moral culture. So that they could be train, hone their will.

Buddhism have been spread in Europe, till now for 150 years. But the initial understanding of Buddhist to European. Could go back since B.C.329, during the period of Alexander the great’s invasion of the white river basin. B.C.259, Ashoka of the Mauryan dynasty of India sent Buddhist missions to the Greek possessions. In the mid of the century, the life story of Lord Buddha was introduced to Europe by Muslim scholars in central Asia, and was widely spread across a lot of areas in the west & east of Europe.

“For all Buddhist males, the merits gain from ordain as a monk not only extend to their future but could be benefits them in the present. More importantly, he would receive the knowledges, wisdom, more comprehensive understanding of this world, and the understandings on the society, economics, materials and spiritual. Ordination as a monk, not just shave off their hair and don the robe only. But more emphasis on the training, practice and embody the teaching of Lord Buddha.”

Today is the auspicious day that every parent is waiting for, to able to offer the robe and aim bowl to the Dhammadayada. They would don the robe representing the sacred robe of the arahant. A layman have completely  transform into a right and dignified monk.

By put one’s palms together devoutly, pay respect to their relatives that will be shave off their hairs and prepare to be a monk.

Everyone would wish for happiness in their life, when facing the confusion and annoyance in the body and mind. How to overcome it? During the present moment, with the fast-changing age, we could need more nectar of the wisdom from Dhamma. In order, to nourish our body and mind, and strengthen the inner brightness, to shine on the blind spot in our thought. Which could assist us thoroughly in overcome all defilements and obstacles.

The matters that are meaningful, valuable, in the life of a man, could happen numerous times. But the one and only time that could allow their parents to feel deeply move and endless joy, is to witness the moment of their own son to don the sacred robe.

The wisdom of Lord Buddha is inherent in every human being. Which guiding numerous people toward the life with happiness!

After don with robe and to receive the precepts as a monk from the chairman senior monk in the ordination ceremony and officially become a monk. From this moment onwards, when receive the offering from the laypeople, should be aware. In order, to be better in purity and practising.  We rejoice the merits for them to ordain as a monk. And we also rejoice the merits of the supporters that support on the successfulness of this event. “Sadhu!  Sadhu!  Sadhu!” (It mean “rejoice the merits” in Thai)
