One Day Meditation Retreat // Jan. 28, 2017— DIMCNJ, New Jersey

The 1st One-Day Retreat of the year was held at DIMCNJ on January 28, 2017. After the announcement that this retreat will be held, the locals reserved all seats within a few weeks. The special part of this retreat was Phra Nicholas Thanissaro, who kindly accepted to give dharma lecture and lead meditation. The teaching monk lectured on “Meditation and Mindfulness” which covered many interesting topics for practitioners such as 10 Rules for Progress of Meditation, Functions of Mindfulness, Degrees of Meditation, Five Hindrances Overcoming, Four Absorptions of Inner Bodies, etc.

In addition to the dharma lecture and meditation in the late morning and afternoon, Phra Wanchalerm Samawangso led them to do Walking Meditation before the afternoon meditation session which helped the locals to relax their bodies and minds for better meditation.

The retreat was successful.  All local participants were interested and impressed with it.  The teaching monks, temple staffs and volunteers would like to thank you Phra Nicholas Thanissaro’s kindness, rejoiced in his merit and share merit to you all.
