Merit-making Ceremonies Dedicated to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej

On October 14, 2017, Dhammakaya International Meditation Center (D.I.M.C.) organized a merit-making ceremony as a tribute to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The ceremony began with the Monastic President Phrakhrusotthidhammavidesa lighting joss sticks and candles to worship the Triple Gems. After that, the Ubasok and Ubasika’s representative Ms. Srisuman Waewsanga lit joss sticks and candles in front of the scripture cabinet, the laypeople’s representative Ms. Amara Banjongsiri lit joss sticks and candles in front of Khriang Thong Noi and the Photo of King Bhumibol and paid homage to the Photo of King Bhumibol.

The staff requested the precepts and the Monastic President Phrakhrusotthidhammavidesa gave the precepts. The monks chanted Dhamma Niyama Sutta. The laypeople’s representatives offered 10 sets of saffron robes to dedicate merit to the late King, and the monks prayed the Royal Funeral Chanting. Then, everybody prayed a special chanting named “Paramindara Maha Bhumibala Atulaya Teja Maharajassa Pattidana Gatha” together.

The Monastic President praised the great kindness of the late King Bhumibol for the Thai people. After that, the monks gave a blessing and everybody took a historic photo together. After finishing the ceremonies in the Main Buddhist Chapel, everyone went out to pay homage and stood quietly for mourning for 89 seconds, and then sang the Royal Anthem of Thailand in front of the Photo of the Late King Bhumibol. Finally, they took historic photos in front of the Photo of King Bhumibol.
