A merit making ceremony for Thailand’s former kings and supreme patriarchs, bringing great benefits to Thailand in the past, is organized at Wat Phra Dhammakaya.

On 29 January 2024, a merit making ceremony was arranged by 13.30 hrs., at Kaew-Sa-Ra-Phad-Nuek 1 Meeting Hall, Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Pathumthani. The objective of this ceremony organization is to dedicate its merit to Thailand’s former kings and supreme patriarchs, who brought great benefits to Thailand in the past including all aspects of country development and Buddhism patronage.

In this event, Most Venerable Phrarajsuthidhammajarn, the Ecclesiastical Head of Pathumthani and the abbot of Wat Prayoondhammaram was the monastic chairman. Venerable Phrakrusangharakrangsarit Itti-jinthako, the abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, together with assistant abbots and 1,140 pilgrim monks from Dhammayatra project participated in this event. Besides the group of lay people and local residents in Pathumthani, the officials of government sectors like Police Lieutenant General Kamronvit Thoopkrajang, Chief Executive of Pathumthani Provincial Administrative Organization, Mr.Manas Suwanrint, Director of Department of Pathumthani Local Administrative Subdivision, Captain Sakorn Kingchan, Director of Pathumthani Provincial Education Office, Mr.Decha Lalee, representative for Director of Pathumthani Provincial Office of Buddhism, Mr.Mongkol Thidathanyaluck, representative from Pathumthani Cultural Provincial Office, Ms.Apisara Ket-Int, Chief District Officer of Klongluang and Dr.Veerasak Hadda, Chief Executive of Klongluang Subdistrict Administrative Organization and leaders of many private sectors also joined this ceremony.
