The Thai Buddhist Meditation Center in Tokyo Japan, cooperated with Wat Phra Dhammakaya Nagano to arrange the Meditation Class for Locals at the Knowledge Exchange Center in Shiojiri, Nagano, on Monday, September 17, 2018, where there were 6 participants. On this occasion, Phra Thanawut Tissaro taught basic meditation for them to learn about the importance of meditation and how it is useful for people these days. The teaching monk explained to them how wonderful it was if we could control our minds to do only good things and stay away from bad things. Meditation can help us control our emotions, thought, and action; if we could do only good and right things. This would make us happy every day. Like those who love to cook, they present their cooking skills better than that of the first cooking day. Like the cooking, practicing meditation every day would bring you the familiarity, skills and better inner experience. The teaching monk also added that for meditation, you have to start with comfort and relaxation, both body and mind. After that the teaching monk led everyone to meditate together for 35 minutes before having a break.
In the second session, the teaching monk summarized the main idea of the sermon and answered their questions. For those who want to meditate but are always busy every day; the teaching monk suggested them the 1–minute meditation technique and played the video for them to see the example. The final summary of the video was our mind would be ready to cope with any problems efficiently in every situation.
The activities that day made the locals understand the meditation better. These activities also encourage them to practice mediation every day.
