Wat Phra Dhammakaya London arranged a Meditation Class for Locals on Thursday, July 19, 2018. The British goes to the temple to study meditation every week. They learn how to sit and place their minds at the center of the body. Phra Maha Dr. Nicholas Thanissaro kindly taught the basic practice of adjusting their body and mind to be relaxed, comfortable and free from worries.
After that, he taught them to place their minds at the 7th Base of Mind and repeat Mantra “Samma Arahang” continuously and then, they meditated together for 45 minutes.
Later, the teaching monk gave a sermon on the topic of “The History of Leaders and Important Persons in Buddhism”. He humbly explained the history of Luang Pu Wat Paknam, Luang Phaw Dhammajayo, Luang Phaw Dattajivo, and the Master Nun Chand Khonnokyoong as well as the other Buddhist leaders who devoted themselves for Buddhism until there were many historical circumstances.
The teaching monk described their virtues and gave the examples for the locals to understand. Finally, the teaching monk answered the participants’ questions.
The knowledge on that day is useful and interesting so that the attendants want to study more.
