On Friday April 20, 2018, Phra Thanawut Tissaro from Thai Buddhist Meditation Center in Japan traveled to teach meditation for the Japanese at Joenji Temple, Shinjuku, Tokyo. This activity is arranged every month and there were 10 participants that came on this day. As there were some newcomers, the teaching monk talked to them to create familiarity and found that some participants meditate regularly, some were interested to meditate, some like Thai-related things and want to see Thai people and Thai monks, etc.
Even though there were various intentions, there were some common things such as they had good feeling, good wishes and needed more comfortable mind which are important for meditation. After the Evening Chanting, all participants meditated together by following the teaching monk’s voice for 20 minutes.
They revealed that they were more comfortable and friendly. Some felt calmer and felt good with the meditation and if they have another chance, they will join the activities again.
