The ordination of 15 Taiwanese males at Wat Phra Dhammakaya Taipei

On 10 August 2026, Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, director of Communication Department and assistant abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, stated that the laypeople in Taipei rejoiced in the merit of the 15th mass ordination for 15 Taiwanese ordinands at Wat Phra Dhammakaya Taipei.

This mass ordination is an important opportunity for Taiwanese men to study the Buddha’s teachings, practice meditation, learn to live the monastic life and train themselves according to the principles of the Buddhism. This activity was actively supported by the laypeople in Taiwan.

Venerable Phrakhrusirisasanavithes, abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya Taipei, said that he felt delighted to act as the preceptor for the ordinands who gave up the worldly happiness and stepped into the monastic life with the intention to lessen their defilements and contribute to Buddhism. He added that 24 males (23 monks and 1 novice) were ordained in 2025 and another 15 males (15 monks) have recently been ordained in 2026. In conclusion, Wat Phra Dhammakaya Taipei has 39 religious heirs (38 monks and 1 novice) to propagate Buddhism in Taiwan.
