Cape Town Meditation Center is on the process of preparing the event “Celebration of Phramongkolthepmuni Statue”, which is the first statue of the Great Master in Africa as the signal of Buddhism propagation in this region. Cape Town Meditation Center focuses on teaching meditation and Dhamma of the Buddha for African locals. The celebration of the Great Master statue will take place on 8 March 2026.
During the past 4 years of its Buddhism propagation mission, Cape Town Meditation Center has taught meditation and Dhamma of the Buddha to the locals in order to educate them on the basic knowledge of Buddhism after its establishment in 2021 by Venerable Phuvich Waradhammo. Additionally, the important events of Buddhism are organized for the locals, such as the merit making activities on Magha Puja Day, Vesak Day and Buddhist Lent Day and the number of attendees for each activity is increasing every year. These activities help tighten the relations between Thai community and African residents and promote Thai Buddhist culture and tradition to the locals.
“The multi-cultural society in Cape Town gives the locals more opportunity to know Buddhism better through listening to the sermon and meditation practice. You are invited to be part of building the inner peace center at Cape Town Meditation Center for the benefit of all inner peace seekers throughout the world. The celebration of Phramongkolthepmuni statue will take place on 8 March 2026.
