
Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, director of Communication Department, Wat Phra Dhammakaya related that the temple will organize the year end and New Year activities, which are the celebration of 7,000,000,000 Dhammacakka chanting rounds completed and overnight chanting to welcome the auspicious New Year on 31 December 2024 by 20.30 hrs. at Meditation Square and the 2025 New Year’s almsgiving on 1 January 2025 by 6.20 hrs. at the grounds of Maha Dhammakaya Cetiya. 3,000 monks from the mass ordination project in honor of the Great Master are the alms receivers from laypeople.
“The overnight chanting is organized according to the policy of Sangha Supreme Council of Thailand and the temple, led by Venerable Phrakhrupaladrattanaveerawat-abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, not only arranges the overnight chanting and New Year almsgiving, but also is open to the public for the visit of flower garden (red periwinkle, purple chrysanthemum and pink zinnia), called “The Heavenly Field and Shining Sun” during 15 December 2024 – 25 January 2025. The flower planting is for the purpose of the monks’ pilgrimage or 13th Dhammayatra project in honor of the Great Master Phramongkolthepmuni (Sodh Chandasaro) or the Mara Vanquisher along the route of 7 memorial places during 2-31 January 2025.
