On Sunday July 3, 2016, The Middle Way Meditation Institute, Iloilo, Philippines organized the Ceremony to Offer Sustenance to the Lord Buddha, a ceremony that is organized by the Dhammakaya Meditation Centers worldwide every first Sunday of the month. As for the Philippines, this event was called “Inner Peace Fiesta” in the Training Room at the University of The Philippines, Visayas Campus. This marks the first time that the Inner Peace Fiesta was organized in the Philippines by the MMI. There were more than 130 Filipinos of all ages, from elementary school students, middle school students, high school and university students, teachers, professors, and etc. that came to take part in this event. Most of the participants are familiar with the Middle Way meditation Technique. This event was organized concurrently with the live broadcast at the Dhammakaya Temple in Thailand. During the live broadcast from Thailand, the teaching monk, Ven. Burin Thitakusalo advised the participants to visualize their supreme goodness as they ask for forgiveness, cleanse negativity of body speech and mind through meditation, and gather the goodness that they have in the past month to connect with their supreme goodness. At the end of the event, student representatives from different class levels got to share their meditation experiences with everyone. It was a good turnout for the Inner Peace Fiesta and hopefully the even will be organized more in the upcoming months.
