On Sunday June 26th, 2016 the Meditation Center, Japan, received an invitation from Mr. Aenomo Moto and his family to teach a Japanese language meditation course at Hamamatsu city, Shizouka province, Japan. The instructor monk was Ven. Tissaro, who gave the lecture titled “Relaxation”. In order for one to progress with meditation, one must find a balance. The ends must not be too strong neither are they too loose. We must know how to release and let go of troublesome issues faced in our daily lives. This can be achieved by first readjusting the body and the mind. After the lecture, there were two meditation sessions that was arranged. The first meditation session lasted for 15 minutes; the second lasted for 30 minutes. After meditation the attendees discussed their meditation experiences, where many expressed their interest for meditation. The attendees liked the fact that there were short and long meditation sessions. This way they had a chance to adjust their body and still the distracted mind, as a result it was easier for them to relax and calm the mind in the last meditation session. Lastly, the teaching monk kindly answered any questions regarding meditation; many attendees engagingly took part in the discussion.
The next meditation event will be hosted in West Shizuoka on Sunday July 31st, 2016 at 13:30 – 15.30PM.
