Wat Phra Dhammakaya presented Buddha relic to Vietnamese monastery of Deputy Supreme Patriarch of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Patronage Council for the connection of Thai and Vietnamese monastic communities.
On 8 April 2025, Venerable Phraratvitheswachiramethee, representative of Luang Por Dhammajayo and Wat Phra Dhammakaya, visited Vietnam to join the presentation ceremony of Buddha relic to Buu Long Monastery in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam and His Holiness Vien Minh, at the age of 81 and with 59 ordination years, as Deputy Supreme Patriarch of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Patronage Council and Abbot of Buu Long Monastery, presided over this event.
The ceremony started with the procession of Buddha relic, circumambulating Buu Long Pagoda and His Holiness Vien Minh led the chanting to pay homage to the Buddha. In this event, Venerable Phraratvitheswachiramethee also delivered a speech on the importance of this Buddha relic presentation, followed by the speech of Buddha relic presentation in Pali and Vietnamese, the monk necessity offering to His Holiness Vien Minh and the monks’ blessing. Finally, Thai and Vietnamese laypeople jointly offered alms to the monks for the connection of Thai and Vietnamese Buddhist communities.
Buddha relic is like the representative of the Lord Buddha, who has great compassion, superb purity and great wisdom, symbolizes the existing of Buddhism and becomes spiritual anchor of the Buddhists in Thailand and Vietnam.
