On 23rd April 2024,Grand Elder Padanta Kandima Biwamsa, Chairman of the Council of the Sangha of Myanmar, chaired the seminar on the theme “Turn Dharmacakra for World Peace “. The seminar was held in the VDO Screening room of the Master Zhan Centennial Building of Wat Phra Dhammakaya. There were monks from Pairin City of Cambodia, Dhammayuttika Nikaya groups, and Mahanikai groups; Preside over monasteries in Da Nang and Hoi An, Vietnam; Lao Sangha International Liaison Office, representative of Buddhist Association; The seminar was attended by abbots and representatives of Buddhist groups from ASEAN Economic Community, including Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.
At the seminar, the director of the media office of the Wat Phra Dhammakaya Temple in Thailand, Elder Samushanon, gave a keynote speech on “Dharmacakra Protects the World”. The main contents include: understanding the suffering of the body; how to manage the body; making a living correctly; building a network of good people; solving world crises and the future vision of international Buddhist organizations to spread the Dharma through the Internet. This seminar mainly hopes to unite Buddhist organizations throughout the ASEAN Economic Community region to jointly recite Dharmacakra Sutra through the Internet to improve human spiritual quality. The number of recite of the Dharmacakra Sutra is tentatively set at one billion times, and this opportunity will also be used as part of a joint strategy to promote Buddhism.

In addition, the Chairman of the Myanmar Sangha Committee – Padanta Kandima Bivamsa, the Great Elder kindly, delivered a speech at the meeting. He said: The plan of reciting the ” Dharmacakra Sutra” at Wat Phra Dhammakaya Temple invites monks and believers from different countries to participate. Chanting is a very good activity. The successful holding of this event is inseparable from the virtues and beliefs of the participants. Everyone can review the teachings of the Buddha through the event, which he greatly appreciates and supports. Reciting the ” Dharmacakra Sutra” has become very common in Myanmar. I hope to take this opportunity to cooperate with Wat Phra Dhammakaya Temple and wish the project can go smoothly and jointly promote Buddhism.
Before the seminar ended, leaders of various Sangha and representatives of Buddhist organizations jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation on participating in the 24-hour recitation of the ” Dharmacakra Sutra” program at Dhammakaya Temple and building a world network of Buddhist organizations. Finally, on World Earth Day on April 22, 2024, on the occasion of the 80th auspicious birthday of Master Dhammajayo, all participants of the seminar took a group photo together, leaving a mark in the history of Dharma promotion in the ASEAN Economic Community region.
