Wat Phra Dhammakaya Kanagawa, led by Phra Bancha Supatitthito and other Dhammakaya branches in Japan, 10 total temples, were the representatives of the Abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, the Most Ven. Phrathepyanmahamuni in helping the victims of the earthquake disaster in Kumamoto Prefecture on the island of Kyushu. They made the donation through Ebina district officials and the officials expressed the grateful thank to the Most Ven. Phrathepyanmahamuni for his ordering the teaching monks, staffs and laypeople to help the quake victims. They confirmed that they would distribute this donation to help the victims according to the Most Ven. Phrathepyanmahamuni’s intention as soon as possible.
Due to the massive earthquake in Kumamoto Province, in the South of Japan that took place on April 14, 2016, that took the lives of over 40 people, left thousands of people injured, and more than 200,000 people had to flee their homes. Since that day, more than 400 quakes and aftershocks occurred leaving damages to properties, buildings, houses, and sufferings in the minds of Japanese and Thais living in Kumamoto and nearby provinces.
Now, the prefectural government has sent out some rescue teams to the area. Other than that, Thai people living in Kyushu Island asked Dhammakaya branches in japan to shelter quake victims.
Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammakaya Foundation led by Most Ven. Phrathepyanmahamuni agreed to open the all 10 branches in Japan to shelter those quake victims.
