The Middle Way Meditation Retreat// May 18-27, 2016– Vietnam

From May 18th – 27th, 2016, The Middle Way Meditation Retreat under the leadership of Venerable monk Piset Jittasuto, Vice Deputy Chief of the Middle Way Meditation hosted the meditation retreat. The Venerable monk traveled to Vietnam to organize the Vietnamese-language meditation retreat. In total, the events have been organized 4 times. The aim of this event is to share the meditation experiences and Buddhism with Vietnamese and internationals that reside within Vietnam. The Buddhist teachings taught are universal and practically applicable, so its usefulness could be implemented in daily life. And to act as virtuous friend by inviting locals and people to meditate.

A half-a-day meditation event was organized for the staff of The Openasia Entrenerial Investors firm, Hanoi, Vietnam. This event received great interest from many Vietnamese and internationals. In total there were 50 attendees. The attendees understood the meditation-for-beginner’s techniques. Some experienced calmness. Some of the attendees expressed their interest to continue with meditation and to participate in future meditation event.

May 20th – 22nd, 2016

A 3-day-meditation retreat was organized at Emeralda Resort & Spa, Ninh Bình, Vietnam. In total there were 34 attendees. The attendees practiced meditation and were taught 5 Universal Goodness concepts and the valuable Buddhist culture. For instance, how to bow and pay respect to venerable monks, how to park the shoes and arrange them neatly. There were also numerous activities: exercise, yoga, bubble blowing, and offering lunch to the venerable monks.

The instructor monks kindly advised the attendees regarding meditation tips and techniques, and what to do if difficulties were experienced during meditation. The venerable also taught practical and useful Buddhist concepts. This helped some attendees to gradually improve their meditation experiences. The Buddhist concepts taught are also practically applicable for daily lives.

The instructor monk kindly hosted a Vietnamese-language-meditation-for-beginners program. The event was hosted at Chau Lang Street, Hanoi, Vietnam. The attendees experienced calmness and comfort during meditation. Some attendees were interested to take part in a scheduled 3-day-meditation retreat in November, which will be organized in Vietnam.

The alumni of the Middle Way Meditation organized a meditation event. There were 60 attendees, which comprised of teachers, interested Buddhists, and the alumni of the Middle Way Meditation. The attendees listened to the Buddhist sermons and meditated. The event was organized at the VIP School, Hanoi, Vietnam. During meditation, the attendees experienced calmness and lightness. Some felt as if their bodies completely disappeared into nonexistent. Many attendees were interested to take part in the future meditation retreats, and to volunteer at the Middle Way Meditation.
