On Sunday April 3, 2016, the Dhammakaya International Meditation Center of Japan, Tokyo, hosted the Japanese meditation session and the teaching of Buddhism. The topic was “Discipline, Respect, and Perseverance”, which was led by the teaching Monk, Venerable Tanawut Tisaralo. The teaching Monk elaborated on the 5 Universal Goodness that Luang Por Dattajeevo taught which are: 1. Cleanliness 2. Orderliness 3. Politeness 4. Punctuality and 5. Meditation.
The teaching monk used the great Master Nun Chand Khonnokyoong (Khun Yai), the Founder of the Dhammakaya temple, as the example. She loved Cleanliness, Orderliness, Politeness and Punctuality. One valuable thing that she continuously did for her whole life is meditation.
Since she was illiterate, meditation enabled her to become wise and intelligence. It made many devoted followers come and meditated with her. After the discussion, the instructor monk leaded the 30-minute meditation session, in which there was a Dhamma discussion at the end. The event concluded with everyone feeling happy and left a great impression for the attendees.
