If an action causes distress to others and distress to oneself, do not do it. If it causes distress to others yet ease to oneself, do not do it. If it causes coolness to others yet distress to oneself, do not do it. All such actions are forms of wrongdoing. But if an action brings coolness and peace to both others and oneself, then do it — for it is an act of goodness.
