One who speaks falsehood must, before all else, overturn and dismantle the image of truth that has arisen within their own heart — and in its place, construct an illusory image anew. This is akin to a television set when it falls into disrepair: the picture on the screen collapses and becomes indiscernible, even as the sound may remain perfectly clear — yet the image can no longer be seen.
One who lies habitually and repeatedly shall find that the image within their heart collapses with ever greater frequency. In the end, they shall no longer be able to distinguish what is true from what is false. And from this inner dissolution, a multitude of harms shall follow — both in the sphere of personal life and in the wider fabric of society.
