Luang Por Often Reflects Upon Himself (His Resolute Intention to Cultivate Wholesome Conduct)

Each year, when the anniversary of his own birth comes around, Luang Phor is inclined to turn his mind inward — to review the past and reflect quietly upon himself. He asks himself: how has it come to be that the building of merit and the cultivation of the perfections have been sustained and carried forward without interruption to this very day — even in the face of obstacles and thorns pressing in from every direction?

The work of building the temple and the ascetic retreat, in particular, is an undertaking of the most immense scale. Dear ones, how could the obstacles not be many? And yet Luang Phor has never once entertained the thought of retreat or abandonment — but has continued to press forward, one step at a time, without ceasing.
