On 18 March 2026, Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, director of Communication Department, Wat Phra Dhammakaya stated that the trend of meditation is quite popular worldwide and increasingly draws attention from Americans.
Wat Phra Dhammakaya Seattle in Washington organized the activity of “Full Moon Meditation” on the full moon night during 18.00-19.00 pm. This course introduced the basic meditation practice and the spread of loving kindness, helping attendees attain inner peace through meditation. Additionally, there was a lantern lighting that night.
All participants circumambulated the ceremonial site before having Thai dinner together. This activity was organized by Seattle Meditation Center under the supervision of Wat Phra Dhammakaya Seattle with the aim of promoting the understanding of meditation practice and Thai culture among Americans.
This activity reflects that meditation, as a tool to attain inner peace, is globally recognized and serves as cultural ties between Thai and American communities. In today’s fast-paced society, stilling the mind through meditation has become the value that many people across the world are seeking for.
