Wat Phra Dhammakaya invites everyone to meditate and light lanterns to celebrate the virtual Earth Day 2022 and declares to achieve Guinness World Record for the title “The largest photo album of people meditating” for world peace.
On the Earth Day (22 April 2022), the director of the Communication Department, Venerable Phrakrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso states that Wat Phra Dhammakaya invites everyone to participate in this online meditation and lantern lighting ceremony. The aim is to have “millions come together to meditate and light candles for peace on Earth Day.” People from all over the world can join this “One Mind, One World ” event on Zoom at www.zoom072.com.
“The lantern is likened to the light of the Buddha’s Dhamma that can safeguard the world. When individuals meditate and purify their body, speech and mind, peace will arise from within. This inner peace will lead to outer peace. When individuals have inner peace, they will have good thoughts, speak kind words, and do good deeds. They will not do anything to harm themselves, others, or the environment. Everyone will live in peace and harmony and peace will take place on earth. The United Nations General Assembly declared 22 April as the International Earth Day. For 25 consecutive years, Wat Phra Dhammakaya has organized an Earth Day event and this year’s event strictly adheres to the Covid-19 preventative measures.” said Ven. Phrakrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso.
Everyone is invited to make the world’s history for the inner peace, resulting in the outer peace by means of meditation and sends a picture to reach the new record for the largest photo album of 1 million people meditating. The qualified pictures are required to meet the following criteria : the pictures of the entire body with proper attire, not necessary to identify name and surname of the sender, and only one picture for one person. This campaign is effective from Earth Day on 22 April 2022 as the beginning of inner peace to World Meditation Day on 6 August 2022 as the sign of true peace. Please join this activity today by sending your picture file to the website meditationphoto.com.
