Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, director of Communication Department, Wat Phra Dhammakaya related that Wat Phra Dhammakaya, together with World Buddhist Organizational Networking, Morality Promotion Centers, devotees of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, International Buddhist Society and their network organized 2024 mass ordination of 3,000 monks across Thailand at Wat Phra Dhammakaya and 170 Morality Promotion Centers throughout Thailand.
On 7 December 2024, Venerable Phrakhrupaladrattanaveerawat, abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, was the preceptor for 2024 mass ordination project at the chapel of Wat Phra Dhammakaya after the completion of ceremony to put on the ordinands’ neck a one-shouldered monk cloth by the teaching monks at the Meditation Hall of Wat Phra Dhammakaya.
“The project of 2024 mass ordination in honor of the Great Master is organized during 28 November 2024 – 4 February 2025 for the purposes of reviving the ordination tradition for Thai men, being the opportunity for ordinands to study the Buddha’s teachings in order to apply them in their life after disrobing, expressing gratefulness to the ordinands’ parents and carrying out the monks’ pilgrimage or the 13th Dhammayatra project in honor of the Great Master Phra Mongkolthepmuni (Sodh Chandasaro) along the route of 7 memorial places.”, said Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong.
