On 7 October 2024, Venerable Phramaha Nopporn Punyachayo (Scholar of Pali level 9), assistant abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya related that Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Uthaisaeng Meditation Center, led by Venerable Phramaha Phadetsak Sakkadhammo as its chairman together with monastic representatives, participated in the funeral ceremony of school bus fire victims and dedicated merit to the deceased as the Buddhist tradition. This tragedy in Pathum Thani caused death of 20 young students and 3 teachers from Wat Khao Phraya Sangharam School on their field trip.
In this event, Most Venerable Phrarat Uthaisophon, the Provincial Ecclesiastical Chief of Uthai Thani, was the representative to receive 100,000 baht to support the families of the bus fire victims and this donated sum will be handed to the involved party.
On 8 October 2024, Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Uthaisaeng Meditation Center opened a food distribution booth for giving out 2,000 cups of “Naturegift” coffee and 1,000 packages of “Gold Bread” bread to the public, joining a royally sponsored cremation ceremony, presided by the Privy Councillor Gen Surayud Chulanont at the sport field of Wat Khao Phraya Sangharam School in Lan Sak district of Uthai Thani.
