Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammakaya Foundation offer basic necessities to those affected by COVID-19 according to the proposal of the Supreme Patriarch.

 

As the spread of COVID-19 inflection is getting worse in Thailand and other countries around the world, the Supreme Patriarch has kind intention to encourage all temples to coordinate with government sectors to help people affected by COVID-19 at their capacity as they can do. Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammakaya Folundation together with their lay followers have set up food contribution centers and sharing pantries to provide basic necessities, ready to eat food and basic supply bags at the total weight of 10 tons including medical products and equipment provided to 400 temples, schools, educational institutions, sangha university, the monastic communities in Cambodia, Lao and Myanmar, 28 Thai hospitals and 2 Chinese hospitals.  On May 7, 2021, Dhammakaya  Temple, coordinating with the monastic community in Pathumthani, offered 6300 cups of instant noodle, 1500 bottles of alcohol, 1000 cartons of ready to drink milk, 20 cartons of snack and 15 bags of instant coffee and Ovaltine drink to medical personnel, people affected by COVID-19 and temporary hospitals in Pathumthani. Mr.Chaiwat Chuen-Kosum,the Provincial Governor of Pathumthani and Police Lieutenant General Kamronwit Thoopkrajang, the Chief Executive of Pathumthani’s Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO), performed duty to receive these donated supplies.

Ven. Prakrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, Director of Communication Dept. mentioned that Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Dhammagkaya Foundation together with their devotees have donated medical products and equipment to protect against COVID-19 at the total value of Baht 10,300,000 with the following detailed list.

  • 1,300 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • 40,000 surgical and cloth masks
  • 2,964 face shields
  • 1000 pairs of gloves
  • 600 pairs of socks
  • 50 pairs of safety goggles
  • 41,544 alcohol spray bottles
  • 457 litres of alcohol gel
  • 2,182 litres of 70% alcohol
  • 5,475 bottles of alcohol
  • 230 foot-activated alcohol dispensers
  • 2 automated alcohol dispensers
  • 21,000 sets of virus protection medical supplies
  • 2 Thermoscan cameras and equipment
