The seminar on “Multinational Collaboration to Cultivate Character, Moral Values, and Wisdom for Peaceful and Sustainable Societies”

On 5 March 2026, Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso related that the international Buddhist organizations jointly organized the seminar on “Multinational Collaboration to Cultivate Character, Moral Values, and Wisdom for Peaceful and Sustainable Societies” at Wat Phra Dhammakaya in Pathum Thani province. The main seminar organizers were International Buddhist Society (IBS), Dhammakaya Foundation, International Morals and Ethics Contest (IMEC), Sriwijaya State Buddhist College, Raden Wijaya College of Buddhist Studies and Kanal penyiaran kegiatan Perkumpulan Guru Agama Buddha Indonesia (PERGABI).

It was the honor, received from the 3 well known speakers in Buddhism;

  1. Venerable Phra Paramai Thanissaro, Ph.D., an expert in Telematics, presented the topic “Preparing Future Leaders for Global Challenges”by focusing on the “Habit Formation”.
  2. Dr. Alfredo Sfeir Younis, a Chilean economist and former director of World Bank Office in Geneva, Switzerland, presented the topic of “The Ethical and Moral Values of a Buddhist Social Doctrine”.
  3. Venerable Phra Thaniyo Bhikkhu, Ph.D., a researcher from Ryukoku University in Japan, presented the topic “Empowering Youth in Excellence and Character, Together” with an outstanding speech “Your expertise will bring you a good job and ethics will keep you secure in the position”.

The objective of this seminar is to exchange the knowledge and the network collaboration in order to apply the Buddhism principles to cultivate habits and intelligence to the youth and leaders of new generations for handling the challenges and chaos of current global situations. The seminar focuses on the practical way of doing small good deeds on daily basis, which will finally result in the society or global changes. This will be the beginning of building a peaceful society sustainably.
