The Public Assistance Activities of Wat Phra Dhammakaya during Songkran Festival 2026

On 7 April, at 71st Anniversary Kitchen Building of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Dhammakaya Foundation and its devotees organized the public assistance activities by offering prompt meals, bread, drinking water, rice and dry food to the locals in Khlong Luang district according to its role “Temple is the center of community.” by promoting the quality of life and morality for the locals.

Assigned by Venerable Phrakhrupaladrattanaveerawat, abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Venerable Phrakhrubhavanasuthamvithes, assistant abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Venerable Phramaha Nopporn Punyachayo (Pali scholar of level 9), assistant abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Venerable Phrakhrusamu Somchai Wangsatheero, deputy director of President’s office and Mr. Ong-Ard Not Dhamma-Nitra, spokesperson of Wat Phra Dhammakaya’s devotees and advisor of Pathum Thani Provincial Red Cross were representatives to hand over food and beverage to Ms. Apisra Ket-In, district chief of Khlong Luang and other officials from relevant government organizations.

The support of food & beverage is provided for the following missions ; 1. To support the road safety and traffic flow, managed by the police, government officials and volunteers during Songkran festival in order to reduce the number of car accidents and criminal cases in the local areas. 2. To assist the vulnerable groups including the elderly and the bedridden patients. Coordinating with Romyen Community Health Center, the temple offered dry food packages to 100 elderly people and 60 bedridden patients. 3. To assist the vulnerable groups in Khlong 7 district by offering dry food packages to the disabled for the better quality of life.

These activities reflects the important and powerful role of monastic groups toward the community. They are not only the spiritual leaders but also the supporters of community members to promote the quality of life according to the principle of Ba-Vorn (Home-Temple-School/Government Sectors). Additionally, the monastic groups drive the peaceful society with the virtues of all community members.
