The mass ordination ceremony at Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Toshigi

During 11-12 August 2024, Most Venerable Prarachratchavithes, chairman of the Council of Thai Bhikkus in Japan and abbot of Wat Paknam Japan, was the preceptor for the mass ordination on occasion of the 80th anniversary of Luang Por Dhammajayo at Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Toshigi in Japan.

The morning ceremony was the circumambulation of the chapel of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Toshigi, followed by paying respect to the principal Buddha image, the ordination request, the request of the Three Refuges and precepts and the monk bowl offering.  The mass ordination ceremony was arranged for 64 ordinands (26 Japanese and 38 Thai men) and all new monks will be trained according to the Buddhism principles at various Thai temples in Japan. 

This ordination ceremony was organized in order to celebrate the establishment of the new chapel of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Toshigi and propagate Buddhism in the foreign country by ordaining Japanese and Thai men and training them on the Buddha teachings and Buddhism practices.
