
On 10 October 2025, Wat Phra Dhammakaya organized a merit making event for the 141st birth anniversary of Phramongkolthepmuni (Sodh Chantasaro) – the Great Master of Dhammakaya Meditation or the Mara Vanquisher. On this day, his disciples expressed their gratitude to him by accumulating merit in honor of the Great Master. In the late morning ceremony, Venerable Phraphavanadhamvithes, assistant abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, led all laypeople to practice meditation before the food offering to monastic community.
For the afternoon session, there was the third picked-up robe offering for supporting Kathina ceremony of Wat Phra Dhammakaya and 30,000 temples throughout Thailand. This event was presided by Luang Por Dhattajivo and participated by laypeople within and outside Thailand. The ceremony started from the robe offering procession of laypeople, followed by the mass meditation, the recitation of picked-up robe offering, the robe picking by the monks and the basic necessity offering by laypeople. At the end of afternoon event, the monastic chairman also delivered a speech on the importance of Phramongkolthepmuni.
At night, all laypeople joined the “Zinnia of Prosperity” planting which was a part of Dhammayatra Project 2026, jointly lighted 20,000 lanterns in honor of the Buddha and Phramongkolthepmuni and celebrated the completion of 7,772,141,141 rounds of Dhammacakka chanting. This event was broadcasted online through GBN channel and Zoom.
