On June 11, 2016, Wat Phra Dhammakaya Scotland organized a meditation class for locals called Open House Meditation. This event has been organized every Saturday, starting at 3PM of the local time. This time, 21 people participated in the event, 12 of them were newcomers. Before the meditation practice, everybody got to do some stretching to relax the body; then, the teaching monk kindly taught them some techniques to still the mind at the 7th base located at the center of the body and some basic meditation guidance. After the guidance, everyone meditated together.
Once the meditation was finished, the teaching monk gave some advice about how to get rid of 5 hindrances of meditators and answered their questions. Everybody was highly impressed. Many of them experienced inner peace from the meditation. This is a good sign of Scotland’s brightness.
