About a week after Dhammakaya International Meditation Center of New Jersey had announced the news of arranging the meditation retreat, 27 locals in various occupations, for example, teachers in primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, universities, Yoga trainers, social workers, salespeople, managers, etc. were interested and applied for the One–Day Retreat: Healthy Body & Healthy Mind.
On the morning of Saturday, August 25, 2018, Phra Pasura Dantamano talked to them on the topic of “Learn to relax” and then, led them to meditate.
After that, the teaching monk opened a chance for them to share their experience and ask the questions.
As over a half of the participants were newcomers who had never meditated before, so they asked a lot about how to meditate and the teaching monk kindly answered each question which is useful for the others as well.
In the afternoon, Phra Wanchalerm Samavangso led them to practice “Walking Meditation” so that they would know how to apply the meditation in motion.
Then, they joined the activity of blowing bubbles to relax their minds and make their minds ready for the afternoon meditation session. After the afternoon session, the teaching monk suggested them how to keep their minds well and told the way to cope with the stress, trouble and other problems in daily life.
Finally, it was the Tea Time with Monk which was the time to converse with the monk cozily.
The One–Day Retreat was successful. Many of them revealed that they would come back to the temple again and also tell their friends and their family members and they thanked the temple for this retreat.
