Meditation Center of Chicago arranged a special meditation for locals in the One Day Meditation Retreat Project on Saturday July 30, 2016. There were over 50 participants and Ven Dr. Nicholas Thanissaro was the teaching monk. The teaching monk introduced about the principle and how to meditate according to Vijja Dhammakaya technique. The teaching monk also suggested the way to overcome Five Hindrances before meditating together. Once meditation was finished, all the participants had lunch together. After lunch, all of them cleaned and tidied the place together as a Mindfulness Chore which is another activity that supports the meditation. Later, they did Walking Meditation before the afternoon meditation session. Then, they had Dharma Talk and shared their meditation experience with each other. Even though some participants had never meditated before, they reached inner happiness and had good experiences.
