Monastic representatives from Wat Phra Dhammakaya visit Raden Wijaya States Buddhist College.

On 30 May 2025, Venerable Phrakhru Bhavanasorakij, abbot of Vihara Dharma Sejati, Venerable Phramaha Wut Suwuttigo, PhD, Venerable Phrakhrusamu Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, director of Communication Department-Wat Phra Dhammakaya and Venerable Brian Paphassaro visited Raden Wijaya States Buddhist College and were welcomed by Dr. Sulaiman Girivirya, rector of Raden Wijaya States Buddhist College, together with their lecturers and students and officers from the Union of Thai Dhammadhuta in Indonesia-Africa.

Venerable Phrakhru Bhavanasorakij rejoiced in the merit and admired the support of college students as volunteers for the arrangement of Vesak Day 2025’s activities at Borobudur and delivered a speech that Borobudur is not only the holy place but also the world’s cultural heritage of ancestors and it should be revived and maintained as the heritage of Buddhism worldwide. Subsequently, Venerable Brian led all to practice meditation by guiding them in English and the meditation guide was translated in Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia). Moreover, the monastic representatives of Wat Phra Dhammkaya handed out to students snacks as souvenirs from Thailand.

Raden Wijaya States Buddhist College has 4-year curriculum and there are 830 students; 60 percent of students are Buddhists and 40 percent of them are Christians, Muslims and Hindus. The college has joined many activities of the Union of Thai Dhammadhuta in Indonesia-Africa including ethics contest, laywomen training, novice ordination and volunteer support for Vesak Day’s activities.
